Skewer Haus | Our Story

Two cultures, one fire

Two cultures, one fire

It started quietly: a souvlaki at the counter, a slice of warm pita, long afternoons with new friends over olives and feta. The more she ate, the more she noticed. The bright snap of lemon on charred meat. The quiet honesty of oregano and olive oil. The way a handful of ingredients could become a whole meal when given time and fire. She loved how Greek food turned fire into something simple. But she had grown up in India, where flavour layers itself in masalas, chutneys, and the smoke off a tandoor. She kept turning the same question over: what would happen if both worlds met on the same plate? The answer wasn't a recipe. It was the fire itself. Marinated meat over open flame is where Indian and the Mediterranean finally speak the same language: smoke, char, spice. Skewer Haus is that conversation served to the table.
The South Asian flame

The South Asian flame

Malai tikka, chipotle chicken tikka, Arabian chicken, paneer tikka — all marinated overnight in yogurt and spice, then held over the open flame until the edges catch. Wraps folded in warm naan, the bread this kitchen makes.
The Greek grill

The Greek grill

Chicken and pork souvlaki marinated in ladolemono — olive oil, lemon, Greek oregano — before meeting the same flame. Lamb kafta, shrimp souvlaki, tzatziki, tirokafteri (spicy feta), and chocolate baklava round out the Greek side.
One table, both traditions

One table, both traditions

The tikka and the souvlaki share the same grill and the same platters — tzatziki next to green chutney, naan beside rice. The Grill Box puts that in a single build: your protein, your base, two sauces.
